Asbestos Survey Kent
Having been carrying out asbestos surveying in Kent for many years, we understand local building styles and where asbestos is typically found. Asbestos has been banned in Kent (and the whole of the UK) since 1999, but the material can still be present in any building or property that was built or renovated before the law came into place. This means that if you are worried that asbestos may be present in your property, it is essential to have a survey carried out as soon as possible.
Homeowners will naturally wish to ensure that their family’s health is secure and no-one is being exposed to dangerous asbestos fibres simply by being in the home. For businesses and building owners there is a legal requirement in place to ensure that the risk of workers being exposed to asbestos is minimised. You must create a plan in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, and having a survey carried out is the first step in this process.
We have carried out asbestos surveys at residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout Kent and beyond, calling on our experience in identifying all forms of asbestos and ACMs.
During one of our asbestos surveys we will conduct a comprehensive search of your premises in order to locate and identify any ACMs. We will then provide you with a detailed report on the current condition of the asbestos. This report will additionally contain recommendations on your next potential steps in dealing with the asbestos or devising a plan to manage it.
We include an asbestos testing service as a part of our surveys. If, during the survey, we discover any potential ACMs we will take a sample of the material and then send it way to a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) lab for testing. These tests will then reveal whether asbestos is present, and provide full insight into its condition.
The lab will send a certificate of analysis with each sample, and we typically expect to get the results back within 36 hours of the sample being taken.
As a reliable local asbestos testing company, we are also able to organise comprehensive asbestos air testing, working with UKAS accredited air monitoring consultancies in order to offer a single, simple service. If asbestos has been disturbed in your property it can be necessary to have testing carried out in order to establish whether it is safe for work to resume in the building.
This can be an absolutely essential step if you are carrying out building or refurbishment works, and are concerned that asbestos is present in the property.
