Asbestos Sampling & Asbestos Testing
Our service begins with a site visit where we will carry out a full inspection. We will then take a sample of the material which can then be sent off to a UKAS-accredited laboratory. The lab will analyse the sample to ascertain whether asbestos is present in the material and which type of asbestos it is.
Asbestos Sampling Kits
Our asbestos sampling kits can be used by owners of both commercial and residential properties. When samples are taken, they are then sent away to a UKAS-accredited lab for testing. The kits come with personal protection equipment (PPE), easily understandable instructions and return packaging.
The results are ready within 24 to 36 hours of the sample being taken. We will then compile a report with photographic evidence along with the Certificate of Analysis from the lab. This report gives you full details on the asbestos.

Pros and Cons of Asbestos Sampling Kits
Pros and Cons of Asbestos Sampling Kits
There are pros and cons for using samplings kits as opposed to having the work carried out by asbestos professionals.
- Asbestos kits may be a cheaper option – depending on how much sampling you need to do; asbestos sampling kits may be more cost effective than having an asbestos professional come to your property to carry out a survey.
- No experts on hand – when asbestos professionals carry out a survey they do with years of experience and knowledge behind them. This kind of expertise isn’t present when you carry out an asbestos sampling kit yourself.
- Level of risk – any time that you interact with asbestos there is going to be some level of risk. Asbestos is at its most dangerous the material is damaged, and fibres can get into the air. For some, the level of risk is too high, and they would simply prefer to have it managed by professionals.
- Speed – in some cases it may be that you can get a sampling kit to your property faster than an asbestos specialist. If you want to have the testing carried out as soon as possible, this might be a valuable option.
