Artex is a coating that has been commonly applied to ceilings and walls in houses across the UK – it was especially popular in houses built or decorated through the 1970s and 1980s. Unfortunately, Artex and other similar coatings that were applied before 1999 often contained white asbestos in order to strengthen them.
